Inside FriSki

Map, meeting points and spoken alerts

What FriSki is built to do on the mountain. Not in the App Store or Google Play yet. The free beta is for Android and iPhone: join the waitlist and we’ll email you an invite.

  1. Live group map

    See your whole group. Live

Every friend is a beacon on the piste map, moving as they move. Each one shows whether they are skiing, riding a lift or stopped, so you know who is below you and who is still in the queue.

  2. Meeting points

Choose a meeting point for the group

Drop a pin, pick a lift, or choose a mountain restaurant. Everyone gets the same target, with their own distance and an ETA where a mapped route is available. FriSki calls out the way as you go. Spoken directions are in beta on every resort map: ski the run you can see, not the one the phone describes.

  3. Voice proximity alerts

Maya is nearby, about 150 meters ahead

When a friend comes within the distance you choose (100, 200 or 500 metres), FriSki says so out loud in your headphones. Friend alerts and spoken directions help you check your phone less often while you ski.

  4. Lock screen and watch

The next turn at a glance

On Android, a ski day card in your notifications shows the next turn, the meeting point and your group, on the lock screen too if your settings show silent notifications. On iPhone the same card is a Live Activity, coming with the first iPhone build. Garmin testers get it on the wrist; an Apple Watch app is in development.

  5. Ghost mode

Solo run? You choose what your group sees

Ghost mode keeps you in the group but stops broadcasting where you are. Turn it on for a lap off the side and off again when you ski back in. You never have to leave the group.

  6. Day stats

    Distance, vertical, top speed

Your phone works out the day's totals, which are saved to your account when the day ends. Your group sees them only if you share that day. Totals only, never a route. No leaderboard.

  7. Offline maps

    Zero bars. Full map

Download your resort on Wi-Fi before you go. Pistes, lifts and place names are then stored on your phone, and GPS needs no network, so in a dead zone the map keeps drawing and your route keeps going. Your friends come back the moment coverage does.
