8 French resorts

FriSki in France

The biggest linked areas in the Alps, and the easiest place in the world to lose four friends before eleven in the morning.

French resorts are where FriSki was designed to earn its keep. The linked domains are wide enough that a group can split across two valleys without anybody meaning to, and the answer is rarely a phone call. It is seeing where everyone actually is. Every resort here has a map you can download before you go, so it keeps drawing in the lift queues, in the trees and on the far side where the signal quietly disappears.

What you get on the mountain

Live group map

See your whole group. Live

Every friend is a beacon on the piste map, moving as they move. Each one shows whether they are skiing, riding a lift or stopped, so you know who is below you and who is still in the queue.

Voice proximity alerts

Maya is nearby, about 150 meters ahead

When a friend comes within the distance you choose (100, 200 or 500 metres), FriSki says so out loud in your headphones. Friend alerts and spoken directions help you check your phone less often while you ski.

Offline maps

Zero bars. Full map

Download your resort on Wi-Fi before you go. Pistes, lifts and place names are then stored on your phone, and GPS needs no network, so in a dead zone the map keeps drawing and your route keeps going. Your friends come back the moment coverage does.
